Paternal "HO" Family

Dr. Ho’s siblings in Hawaii, as mentioned in The Summer of 1954 letters, include:
  • S.K. (Sue Kong) Ho (a.k.a Uncle Kong?), who is in poor health (wife Alice, son Dickie and daughter Phyllis, about to be married in Los Angeles);

  • Mrs. Chin Ho? - is this Kyau Ho, married to someone surnamed Ching,
  • Lucy Fung Ho;
  • plus Ben, son of sister Ella Ho Soong?

Ho Family tree

The family tree starts with Lily's paternal grandfather -- a Fo Sen HO married to a Chiu SHI, noted as the oldest of six siblings.

In 2018, I learned from Ivy's daughter Loretta that great-grandfather En Seong Ho - Lily's father, the dentist - was the oldest of several siblings (said to be six, but could there be confusion with his father's generation). He was born in China, in the area of Guangdong, just north of Hong Kong. He moved to the US at the age of about three, when his father Fo Sen was contracted to work on a plantation in Hawaii. His other siblings were born in the US.
