An online treasure trove in fond tribute to the family of Albert T. Quon & Lily C.C. Ho

On May 13, I’ll be speaking with Peter Stuckey on "Kaiping’s Watchtowers & the Emigrants Who Built Them” for the Royal Geographical Society (Hong Kong). This will be a reprise of our February talk. Learn about the thousands of century-old "diaolou” watchtowers that bring a touch of storybook romance to a region that remains largely agricultural. In 2007 they were granted UNESCO World Heritage designation. They are an incredible collective monument to the region’s work migration history, and make an easy and worthwhile weekend visit from Hong Kong. Watch a recording of my April 11 webinar on “Image Sleuthing: Mining Old Family Photos for Deeper Stories of Chinese America”. For a limited time, the webinar will be freely accessible. Afterwards, you’ll need to be a member of the Chinese Family History Group to watch.
