ABOUT DEDE HUANG

I'm a Quon on my maternal side, and this site began as wedding gift for a cousin. It has since grown into a scrapbook for our extended family, and increasingly, into a body of research that I hope will be of value to anyone with an interest in the Chinese-American experience or in researching their own family history.

I am a US-born, Hong Kong-based family historian specializing in Chinese-American families with Hong Kong, Guangdong and Shanghai backgrounds. I work with both English- and Chinese-language sources to help individuals and families uncover and share their stories through print and digital media.

Please use the form below if you would like to contact me about a professional consultation, or simply to contribute a story or comment.

This site has been greatly enriched by stories and comments from extended family members, former store customers, Quon scholarship recipients, and others. Thanks in advance for writing in!
